The Roaring Meg is a traditional English pub serving seven quality ales, craft lager and real ciders plus some mainstream brands. Our food is all homemade either in our kitchen or the kitchen of the brewery at Laneham.

Meg roars into town! The team at Springhead are delighted to announce the opening of the new “Roaring Meg” pub on Barnby Gate in Newark. A major renovation project has taken place to restore the stunning building to its former glory, opening up new rooms, sprucing up the hidden courtyard, and putting the kitchen into action. Like the other Springhead pubs, The Roaring Meg will be producing delicious home cooked food, all locally sourced. Customers will be able to sample an extensive range of hand-pulled real ales, plus traditional ciders, craft lagers and quality wine. David Anderson, of The Bees’ Knees at Laneham fame, will be managing The Roaring Meg and looks forward to serving you a pint or two. Springhead have recently won the SIBA (Society of Independent Brewers Association) Best Community Support Award 2013 for their work in opening The Bees Knee’s and making it such a vibrant place for the community to meet, and looks forward to doing the same at The Roaring Meg. The pub will soon be providing music on a regular basis, and looks forward to getting involved with the local music scene. It has a large function room, ideal for bands, private parties and meetings.
